How to get out of a creative rut? Lesson's from Virgil Abloh
Want to know how to get out of a creative rut? Here are some thoughts from Virgil Abloh
We took some important notes from Virgil Abloh currently the Creative Director of Off-White and Louis Vuitton from a lecture he did at Columbia University back in 2017 entitled "Everything in Quotes".
He says
“One thing I tell current [inspiring] creative's is that there is a general layer of complacency amongst us.
It's so easy to be a critic. It's easier to be a critic than to produce work.
The only way to get to your end means is to start your "domino effect" , which means to put out bad work.
I for one am not a perfectionist and it's such a gratifying concept.
I want everyone who has ambition to find the domino effect!
Create the project that is latent with intent and see what comes after that!”. Virgil Abloh
What are your thoughts? Do you let fear hold you back from producing work? Have you experienced the domino effect?
